December Cause Area
families in crisis

The holidays prove difficult for many within our community. In November and December, our cause areas are hunger and families in crisis. Unfortunately, these two areas tend to go together. To support our community members that need food, housing, care, and support we’ve collated a wide range of service opportunities to get them what they need to thrive. The projects include food drives, gift + wrapping supplies drives, wreath making, meal boxes, and more.

Current Opportunities

  • S’mores on the Street With Safehouse Outreach

Every year for Thanksgiving, Safehouse Outreach nurtures a gathering space for those experiencing poverty and/or homelessness by creating meaningful connections between community members through food and service.

What to Expect: Volunteers will make s’mores, serve meals, assist with clean-up, host board game tables, and make stronger connections with fellow community members in need.

Notice: Due to a high volume of demand for volunteer participation and limited space to accommodate groups, only very limited spots are available. Volunteer registrations are first-come-first-serve. If you need to cancel, please let us know at least a week in advance. Thank you for supporting Safehouse Outreach!
